  Lazy police officers work here. I got in a hit and run accident. Gave the officer the license plate numbers and they still couldn't the person who hit my car. Bunch of lazy bums sucking on taxpayers

  As a licensed vehicle for hire in the City Of Livermore i am highly disappointed at the way the City Of Livermore is making it increasingly more & more difficult for us to do our job. We are here to provide a MUCH needed service especially on the weekends. We are here to provide safe transportation for intoxicated individuals who would otherwise drive drunk with a high probability of taking the life of another person. Permitted drivers pay the City Of Livermore thousands of dollars each year to obtain the right to pick passengers. That is by definition what a Taxi does, passengers hail a cab off the street. My most recent disappointment came the other night at Midnight when i was hailed by an impaired individual trying to do the right thing and take the responsible way home. i pulled off the main roadway and was waiting for the passenger to approach. i was then intercepted by an officer on foot that approached the cab and told me i was not allowed to pick up on a side street. i was instructed to go find a place to park, in a parking spot! As there was no available parking i had no other option but to continue on without picking up my passenger. I know not to obstruct traffic and left room for cars if any approached to be able to pass. The last thing i feel we need is to make it anymore difficult then it needs to be for someone to get home safely. Night after night i see an increased number of illegal car services that have... 1. No City Bussiness License 2. No City Permit 3. Are Not Drug Tested 4. Have No Background Check 5. Are Not Commercially Insured 6. Are Not The Required 25 Years Of Age. That aside, the least the City Of Livermore can do is allow the LEGAL vehicles for hire to do the job we are out here to do. Our License allows us to pickup street side, it is backed by a city ordinance created in 1998 and our permits are signed by the Chief of Police. It's one thing to not enforce the illegal car services, but it's another thing entirely to prevent the legal ones from performing our services.
